[00:00:01] Speaker A: Hey, y'all. My name is Brandon Bush.
[00:00:03] Speaker B: I'm Kaden petrus.
[00:00:04] Speaker C: And I'm Carly Faulkner. And we're the host of Spark by.
[00:00:07] Speaker B: Revolutionnaire, where we pass the mic to people whose voices are not always heard.
[00:00:10] Speaker A: And have candid and informative conversations sparked by revolutionary.
[00:00:17] Speaker B: And now we get to have conversations where we talk about everything under the sun that we feel we have related to, or we can experience, or we can give advice on. I think that's so know.
[00:00:30] Speaker A: Should we go around and introduce ourselves?
[00:00:32] Speaker C: Yeah, absolutely.
[00:00:34] Speaker A: I'll start. My name is Brandon Bush. Of course. I live here in DC.
And I think that really, really excited for us to have conversations that people who look like us generally just don't have the platforms to do. So I'm very grateful for that.
[00:00:51] Speaker C: Well, my name is Carly, I am from New Jersey, and I'm really looking forward to sort of showcasing our multifacetedness, all the layers that we have and we encompass and also amplifying the voices that are just not always heard.
[00:01:07] Speaker B: Yeah, I totally agree with both of you. I'm Jaden, I'm from New York. And I think one of the things I'm excited to do is just uncover all the conversations that are swept in the corner under the rug and bring them to the forefront, those taboo conversations, those hard conversations, those uncomfortable conversations, and make sure that we can have a safe space for people to talk about them. And I really appreciate learning from other people.
You guys know, they don't know, but I'm a nursing student. It can be very secluded, isolated at times with our issues and the things that we have to do for work. So I enjoy listening to other perspectives and other career paths because it all ties in.
[00:01:47] Speaker A: It does. You know how we all kind of got together and just had these really amazing just back and forth conversations for us to be able to just talk about regular things in life?
[00:01:58] Speaker C: Really what started out as like a dinner conversation kind of sparked into this.
[00:02:04] Speaker B: Yeah, I think it started with an unpopular opinion. Can't remember. There's a few in the night. Yes, but I think we got to a place where we were debating on it and we finally got to a place of like, okay, what are we talking about here?
[00:02:17] Speaker C: Right.
[00:02:17] Speaker B: We're talking about the same thing. We're trying to communicate the same message, but we're just saying it in different ways.
[00:02:22] Speaker C: Exactly.
[00:02:23] Speaker B: And then hence, the podcast was born and we came to that night, we came to a mutual understanding that our voices and our opinions are all valued, they're all very important and all should be heard. It's okay to be different, it's okay to be diverse, it's okay to have polar opinions. But I think as long as we listen and like you guys mentioned, this is the purpose of the podcast and.
[00:02:45] Speaker C: We'Re able to walk away with something.
[00:02:47] Speaker B: Yeah, you're able to. I like to say leave with more instead of leaving with the less. You leave with a little bit more knowledge, advice or empathy or understanding anything.
[00:02:57] Speaker A: And you leave with a spark.
[00:02:59] Speaker B: You leave with the spark. Spark my revolutionarian.
[00:03:03] Speaker C: And so can we tell the people what is coming up, what to look forward to?
[00:03:08] Speaker A: So we're definitely having a conversation about heteronormativity period. Stay tuned for more.
[00:03:14] Speaker C: Yes. We're going to be talking about women's rights, definitely.
Especially know everything going on with the Roe v. Wade overturning.
[00:03:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:03:25] Speaker C: And I'm really looking forward to that.
[00:03:27] Speaker B: I'm looking forward to that, too. I think there's a lot to talk about. I think another thing that we're talking about is financial independence. I think there's a lot of confusion when it comes to our generation and just transitioning from different periods, whether that be high school into college or just living your regular life into another chapter.
[00:03:47] Speaker C: I'll say a fun one is the.
[00:03:48] Speaker B: Hot takesy topics that we want to get into, right?
[00:03:57] Speaker C: A lot of Twitter discourse we want to flush out.
[00:04:00] Speaker B: And all of you all on Twitter, there's always some type of something.
[00:04:05] Speaker C: It's always something.
[00:04:06] Speaker A: It's always very much so something.
[00:04:11] Speaker B: But I think one of the most important things that we can gain from this podcast is a feeling of unity. I think there's a lot of confusion with people our age, people that are coming into our age, people that are just in this demographic that feel like they're alone in some topics.
[00:04:28] Speaker C: And we all come from different backgrounds. And I think that's important to understand and to know when we're all sharing our ideas and opinions and then talking to other people as well. I'm really excited for the guests that we're going to have in here. Yeah, I think it'll be just really important to have these conversations that are not just on social media where people can just, I guess, be angry at each other. There's no face to face happening.
[00:04:53] Speaker A: And I think that that was the magic of the entire conversation that we originally had that led to this. And so hopefully we can recreate that magic for everybody else.
[00:05:03] Speaker C: No, for sure. Definitely. As long as we love running our mouth.
[00:05:07] Speaker A: Oh, God, I can run my mouth.
[00:05:10] Speaker B: Here all day and talk. We really can. We really can. I think the last time we linked up, we were just talking.
[00:05:17] Speaker A: We literally talked.
[00:05:19] Speaker B: Yeah.
They don't want us on the podcast.
[00:05:22] Speaker A: No, but you all going to get us on the podcast, though, because you all see these mics right here.
[00:05:29] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, it's official dishwall.
[00:05:32] Speaker A: Yes. So make sure you all stay tuned for more episodes.
